FAQs

Q   What time can we check in and check out of our accommodation?
A

Check-in: The simple answer is whenever you need to, although your accommodation may not be ready until 2 pm (or 4 pm if you're in one of our self-catered apartments). We understand that to get a great price on your flight, you may not get a great arrival time! If you arrive in the middle of the afternoon, the chalet staff may not be around to meet you, but we will provide you with the door codes and a welcome pack so you can settle in and get comfortable. If you arrive in Megève before your accommodation is ready, we will offer a safe place to look after your bags. Hot and cold beverages are always available in our catered chalets, or you can head straight off to ski!

Check-out: We ask departing guests to leave their rooms after breakfast or by 10 am at the latest. This allows our staff time to clean through before the next guests arrive for their holiday. If you depart Megève after you have checked out of your accommodation, again, we will offer a safe place to look after your bags. You can spend the day at your leisure, and we can even offer you somewhere to freshen up before you begin your journey back to the UK. When booking your holiday, we will ask for your flight details so that arrangements can be made in advance, regardless of your plans.

Q   Megève is low - will there be snow?
A

The snowfall in Megève can vary due to changing climates, but the village benefits from its location and features that contribute to reliable snow conditions. Megève sits at an altitude of 1,100 metres, with the highest lift reaching 2,350 metres, ensuring plenty of snow. The presence of one of the largest ski resorts in France further attests to the reasonably reliable snowfall in the area, as billions have been invested in its development.

Megève offers a unique advantage over other ski resorts as the pistes are transformed into green pastures during the summer months. This means that even a small amount of snow is sufficient for skiing, unlike areas with rocky bases. Furthermore, Megève benefits from a "micro-climate" created by the shadow of Mont Blanc, which helps maintain snowfall in the region. The presence of 145 snow cannons further ensures optimal snow conditions.

As the end of the season approaches, bringing sunshine and blue skies, the lower slopes may start to melt in the late afternoon. To overcome this, it is recommended to start skiing early and enjoy the slopes for as long as possible before indulging in a leisurely late lunch at a mountain restaurant with breathtaking views Perhaps accompanied by a beer or glass of wine, this offers a delightful way to conclude a day of skiing in Megève.
