What’s New in Megève for winter 2024/25

26 November 2024

We are getting very excited about the oncoming 2024-2025 winter season in Megève.
Meg Xmas Tree

With great snow coming down in the Alps right now, we are getting very excited about the oncoming 2024-2025 winter season in Megève.

There’s a lot to look forward to with improvements in the infrastructure, new restaurants and events to enjoy.

Jaillet ski area

The Jaillet ski area will see some changes by the lift company. Their plans include modernising the Jaillet gondola and the Beauregard chairlift, to offer easier access and adapted to weather conditions.

It’s Christmas!

The Megève season will officially open on 07 December, with a dramatic lighting display in the village square.

The church, the bell tower, and other buildings will be permanently lit through the winter nights, with sound effects to add a magical touch to the village.

And for the first time, the traditional fir Christmas tree will be replaced by a metal structure decorated with small natural fir trees and decorated by a Parisian jeweller.

New restaurants

Guests of Stanford Skiing can enjoy great food in our catered chalets in Megève, but if you do want to try out the incredible gastronomy of the resort then this winter there are several new options.

Michelin-starred chef Marc Veyrat has opened a gourmet restaurant in the centre of the resort, featuring a menu featuring local produce. The restaurant will be open year-round, but on Thursday evenings, Friday evenings and Saturday evenings only.

The Grand Hôtel Soleil d'Or is launching La Fromagerie, a restaurant dedicated to local cheese specialties. There will also be opportunities to discover the secrets of Savoyard cheese making.

Art Exhibition

On bad weather days, why not drop into the Palais de Megève to view a unique art exhibition featuring local and international artisans and artists.

The theme is water and it will include sculptures, mosaics and installations all covering the wealth of water resources in the Alps.
