Perfect skiing day
11 January 2019
New snow, sunshine, still untracked powder to be found - what could be better?Yesterday we had about 10 cms of fresh snow. So we caught the bus to Jaillet with Neville and Stuart (the joint manager of the Rond Point) where we met Gordon and John Cox. We skied off the back of Christomet a few times which was fun. However, it was very scrubby and we had to find a way round the bushes. Then we skied off piste through the trees to the Fingers restaurant, which is closed. It did mean walking out along the snow shoe trail, but the exercise warmed us up.
Today we skied the Rochebrune ridge and found some powder off the side of Lanchettes. Sadly my knee complained very bitterly about the Lanchettes drag lift so I skied over to Cote and caught the bus home. The men stayed out. It is very cold but sunny and the snow is perfect and the pistes are deserted. They are making snow so they have piles for piste repairs if needs be. There is more snow forecast for Sunday when we are coming home, as I have an arthroscopy scheduled for Tuesday. But hopefully will be skiing again in March.
