Ski Equipment

We have negotiated special prices for our guests at three local ski equipment shops. As a rough guide, a set of adult skis and boots would cost between 100-160 Euros for a week, depending on quality. For Children, budget 60-110 Euros.

Ski Passes

Megeve has one of the lowest priced ski pass of any major resort - some 25% less than most other comparable ski areas.

NEW FOR 2010: If you buy a ski pass for 6 days or more for use between January 3rd and 23rd and from March 7th to the end of the season, you can take advantage of unlimited access to the Palais des Sports (swimming pool, ice rink, gym, table tennis and Media Library).

Ski Schools

There are now a lot of English instructors in Megeve, but they tend to move from one ski school to another each season.

For the Sylvana/Clochettes book lessons departing from Rochebrune or Caboche (Caboche is where the accompanied skiing departs from). For all other chalets, lessons departing from the Caboche are best.

ESF 00334 50 21 00 97 www.megeve-ski.com/

The ESF offers group lessons in English. They are the cheapest option although at peak times group lessons can be large. During the season ring ESF Caboche 0033 4 50 58 72 54. The following instructors have been recommended: Scott Henderson, Katie Campbell, Alex Perrinet and Priscilla (from Rochebrune only).

ESI 00334 50 58 78 88 www.esimegeve.com

The ESI is smaller and a little more expensive than the ESF. However, the meeting point is usually at Mont d'Arbois which is not so convenient. They offer private lessons and children's group lessons during peak weeks (maximum of 8).

Ski Technique

A new set up run by Jarrod and Glen. They offer private lessons only (up to six per group). Full day bookings also available. Tel: 00 33 (0) 6 19 90 51 71 (Jarrod) or 00 33 (0) 6 16 76 69 48 (Glen) www.ski-technique.co.uk Email: jarrod@ski-technique.co.uk or glen@ski-technique.co.uk

British Alpine Ski School Megeve

Summit Ski School

Started last season (2008/9) and based next to Concept Ski Hire, at the foot of the Chamois gondola. Private lessons and children's group lessons during peak weeks (maximum of 6). Email summits@summits.fr www.summits.fr

Independent Instructors offering private tuition.

Note: it is best to call individual instructors at times when they are unlikely to be teaching.
